Oldies Concert

A rock and roll oldies extravaganza — in tribute to Riverhead's biggest doo-wop fan, the late Supervisor Joe Janoski.

The concert features The Acchords, Party Dolls and Symphonic Soul.

Come downtown for a night great music on the Peconic Riverfront.

Saturday, July 16 2011. Concert starts at 5:30 p.m. and continues through 11 p.m.

The Acchords, a classic do-wop band, will kick things off at 5:30, followed by Party Dolls at 7 singing all the "girl band" and "disco diva hits of the 60s and 70s. Symphonic Soul takes the stage at 9 pm, a band with a great horn section that plays all the great music from the 60 and 70s, including Motown, James Brown, Linda Ronstadt and more!

Admission is FREE.

Downtown restaurants including The Athens Grill, The Dark Horse, Tweeds and Julia's Pizza will be selling sandwiches, burgers, grilled chicken and more. Soft drinks, beer and wine will also be offered for sale. Ice cream and zeppoli, too. And memorabilia vendors featuring toys, posters and goodies from days of yore will be on hand.

The event is sponsored and produced by The Riverhead BID with support from Suffolk County National Bank.
